Green Hydrogen a hope for Humanity economically viable and 100% sustainable
With the great scientific search for substitutes for fossil fuels, Green Hydrogen or H2V, is considered indispensable for the industrial and mobility sector to be able to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions, as well as being highly rated as a solution for transport. in general and even residential heating in European countries that already use natural gas as an energy source.
Hydrogen to be produced on a large scale requires a large amount of electrical energy for the electrolysis process. Using clean energy generation, based on solar, wind, hydroelectric power and even tidal movements, production becomes free of carbon emissions, thus receiving the classification of Green Hydrogen – H2V, a potent, non-polluting fuel gas generated with minimal environmental impact.
Another great differential of hydrogen as a clean/renewable energy is the ability to be stored for long periods at a low cost compared to lithium, cobalt and nickel batteries. Well, one of the big problems we have today with the generation of wind, hydroelectric and solar energy on a smaller scale in the world, is the need to transmit energy as soon as it was generated or store it in batteries limited by the short storage period, due to chemical reactions in cells and high cost per stored energy.
There are already several initiatives by large groups and nations betting on this technology with different purposes of supplying H2V to different areas, and Brazil is being recognized worldwide for having an immense potential for this production, with some projects underway in partnership with other nations and groups. businesses that are already estimated to invest around US$ 200 billion by 2040.
Brazil’s great differential in the generation of Green Hydrogen, due to its great abundance of clean energy production by its hydroelectric park. Unlike European countries, which precisely the source of energy for electrolysis in a hydrogen plant is limited to the use of thermoelectric plants powered by
Natural Gas and mineral coal, limited resources and with a fragile supply, an example that occurred with the War of Ukraine. But its biggest inadequacy is the large CO2 emission, aggravating the greenhouse effect.
This technological evolution will bring gradual relief in the reduction of carbon emissions, reducing the advance of global warming and the world’s dependence on fossil fuels.
WMF Energy follows this evolutionary process with great optimism, investing in research and development of projects and solutions, with its partners and investors, always with a sustainable vision, seeking a better world.
