Great News for Amazon!

Efforts are yielding concrete results in protecting the Amazon! According to recent data, in July 2023, the area under deforestation alerts in the Amazon showed a remarkable drop of 66% compared to the same period of the previous year.

This significant reduction is cause for celebration, and WMF is proud to be part of this achievement. Through a variety of projects dedicated to forest conservation and management, WMF has worked tirelessly to preserve the Amazon’s unique ecosystem and promote equity with the indigenous peoples who have inhabited these lands for centuries.

This positive news reinforces the importance of everyone’s involvement in the preservation of one of the greatest natural treasures on the planet.

Together, we can continue to make a difference in protecting the Amazon and valuing its biodiversity, so essential to human life on the planet.

Let’s move forward on this journey to preserve our common home, Earth!
