UN says decarbonization needs to move faster

The world needs to move faster in decarbonization and, at the same time, accelerate the necessary adaptations to live with a changing climate.

These are the two main messages of the fourth and final part of the Sixth Assessment Cycle of the IPCC, the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

One of the differences between the last report released and the previous ones is the emphasis on adaptation. The term, often used in climate discussions, refers specifically to the measures needed to deal with a climate that has already changed.

The technologies to reverse the situation of increasing global warming already exist. We all have to act, from governments to companies, investing heavily in sustainable solutions and initiatives and all of humanity changing its day-to-day habits so as not to be extinct soon.
